Three Denver-area banks were robbed since Monday morning, and a man with a gun left a Wells Fargo branch in Longmont without cash after ordering customers and staff to the floor.
The Longmont robbery happened at 1:50 p.m. today at the branch at 635 Coffman St. It is not clear what caused him to abandon the robbery attempt.
The robber was described as a Hispanic male, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 130 pounds, wearing a brown hoodie, white bandana, blue jeans and black gloves.
A witness saw an “electric blue” sedan, possibly a Chrysler PT Cruiser or Chevrolet HHR, speed away. Longmont police said they have not determined if the man is the same person who robbed the Cambios Torrez Check Cashing Store at 947 Main St. on Jan. 14, though the description is similar.
At 10:55 a.m., Monday the Bank of the West at 2 Steele St. in Denver was robbed by a man described as white, in his 30s, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a medium to stocky build.
At 11:05 a.m. Monday, the US Bank branch at 4590 Peoria St. was robbed by a man described as black, unshaven 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a medium build.
The US Bank at 730 Colorado Blvd. in Denver was robbed at 12:21 p.m. today by a man described as black, 25 to 35 years old, about 6 feet, 1 inches tall, 180 to 190 pounds with a thin to medium build.
