A garbage truck this morning got wedged beneath a railroad bridge overpass along the South Santa Fe corridor, snarling traffic but not causing any major damage or injuries.

The accident happened at about 6:25 a.m. on West Iowa Avenue just off South Santa Fe Drive near the Overland Golf Course, said Sonny Jackson, a Denver Police Department spokesman.

No one was injured in incident.

Traffic on eastbound Iowa was halted by the incident, but workers were able to free the truck and clean up the mess.

Damage to the bridge is superficial and traffic under the overpass resumed at about 8 a.m.

The driver of the Waste Management truck was cited in the accident, police said.
