Clint Black and Cheap Trick are slated to lead this year’s Taste of Country Concert Series at the 89th annual Greeley Stampede. The June 24-July 4 event will feature Rodney Atkins and Little Big Town (June 24), Clint Black and Josh Kelley (June 25), Chris Young and Steel Magnolia (July 1) and Cheap Trick and Blue Oyster Cult (July 2). Disturbed, Godsmack and Megadeth will headline this year’s Rockstar Mayhem Festival at Comfort Dental Amphitheatre on July 17, along with Machine Head, In Flames, Trivium, Red Fang, Unearth, Suicide Silence and others. Check back here or for on-sale dates and prices.

Folks Festival’s 21st annual installment is taking place Aug. 19-21 at Planet Bluegrass Ranch in Lyons, with performances from Brandi Carlile, Josh Ritter, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Sweet Honey in the Rock and more to be announced. Festival and camping tickets are on sale. ($50-$140, )

Big Head Todd and the Monsters are returning to headline their most prestigious hometown venue when they play Red Rocks Amphitheatre June 11 with Guster. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. today. ($39.50-$59.50, Ticketmaster)

Sleigh Bells and Neon Indian both have risen quickly thanks to the critical hype swirling around their fractured, party-ready electro-pop. Both are also poised to develop long-term audiences thanks to their energetic (if still-developing) live sets, which makes them smart co-headliners. Tickets for their June 4 concert at the Ogden Theatre are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($22, Ticketmaster)

Lewis Black’s angry rants often give the impression the New York stand-up/author is prone to Tourette-like fits of random blathering. Nothing could be further from the truth, as the thoughtful (though, yes, vitriolic) comedian will prove when he plays Colorado Springs’ Pikes Peak Center March 31 and the Ellie Caulkins Opera House April 1. Tickets for both are on sale at 10 a.m. today. ($40-$65, or )

Bill Maher is another comedian in the proud gadfly tradition, which has netted him as many fervent followers as detractors. The host of HBO’s “Real Time” plays CU-Boulder’s Macky Auditorium on April 9, with tickets on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday ($55-$75, Ticketmaster). Also funny and worthy: “Mr. Show” veteran and astute social critic Paul F. Tompkins at the Gothic Theatre on May 27. Tickets are on sale. ($20, )

Cypress Hill is a no-brainer concert for the Ogden Theatre, given the Latino hip-hop act’s stoner ways and our state’s friendly, increasingly well-known marijuana culture. Tickets for the April 19 show are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($30, Ticketmaster)
