Former Denver Post All-Colorado defensive end Pierre Allen is coming off the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., where the Thomas Jefferson and Nebraska graduate — he received his degree in December — had a full gamut of inquiries leading to the NFL’s April 28-30 draft.
The 6-foot-3 3/4, 273-pound Allen, an all-Big 12 Conference pick, will train in California to prepare for the NFL scouting combine, according to former Spartans coach Dan Turnbull.
“I’ve talked to just about everybody,” Allen told reporters at the Senior Bowl, where he worked to “show that I can play the run and the pass, that I’m a reliable player and that I’m consistent.”
He had only 3 1/2 sacks in 2010 but led the Big 12 with 13 quarterback hurries.
