Brandon Mondragon, 21, pleaded guilty Monday to leaving the scene of an October accident in Lower Downtown Denver in which two people were injured.

In exchange for his plea, Mondragon faces six months in the Denver County Jail on work release, four years of probation and 300 hours of community service when he is sentenced April 25.

The family of 26-year-old Tim Albo, who was left with a brain injury, told CBS4 and Fox 31 television that they were displeased with the short sentence but agreed to it because it was the best deal they were offered by prosecutors.

Mondragon hit Albo and 27-year-old Heather Kornman in a crosswalk at 20th and Chestnut streets in LoDo on Oct. 3 and then fled. He was arrested a week later.

Passengers in Mondragon’s Chrysler PT Cruiser said they had been at a local club before the accident, just after 2 a.m.
