Getting your player ready...
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.—Colorado Rockies left-hander Jorge De La Rosa has cleared up his visa issues and is headed to the desert.
De La Rosa missed Colorado’s first spring training workout on Tuesday while trying to clear up unexpected complications with his visa in Mexico. He finally got it taken care of and is expected to arrive in Arizona Wednesday afternoon, likely too late to take part in that day’s workout.
De La Rosa signed a two-year, $21.5 million contract with a third-year player option during the offseason after going 8-7 with a 4.22 ERA in 2010. He’s expected to be Colorado’s No. 2 starter behind ace Ubaldo Jimenez this season.
