SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Northern Colorado held serve in the Big Sky Conference at a place it had never earned a point, defeating Sacramento State 78-65 on Saturday for its first women’s basketball win in Sacramento.
With the victory, the Bears (15-11, 10-3) maintained a half-game lead in the Big Sky over Montana State and Montana.
Lauren Oosdyke led the Bears with 17 points, and D’shara Strange recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
UNLV 72, Colorado State 60
LAS VEGAS — Kim Mestdagh scored 23 points to lead the Rams, who committed six turnovers in the first seven minutes and could never recover from the resulting nine-point deficit.
CSU (12-13, 5-7 MWC) fought to within seven points late, but the Rebels (10-17, 3-10) made free throws at the end.
No. 20 Iowa State 71, Colorado 45
AMES, Iowa — Kelsey Bolte scored 17 points and Lauren Mansfield added 13 to help No. 20 Iowa State cruise to a victory over Colorado.
The Cyclones (18-8, 6-6 Big 12) finished with a season-low six turnovers while winning their fourth straight conference home game.
Brittany Spears had 13 points to lead the Buffaloes (12-13, 3-9).
The Cyclones used a 13-0 run over a 6:51 stretch in the second half to take a 45-30 lead with 11:09 to go.
Metro St. 69, N.M. Highlands 45
The Roadrunners, ranked No. 11 in Division II, held the Cowgirls to just 29 percent shooting at the Auraria Event Center while shooting a season-high 52 percent themselves.
Cassondra Bratton led Metro (24-1, 20-1 RMAC) with 16 points. Metro outrebounded Highlands 40-29 and committed only 10 turnovers. The Roadrunners opened the game with a 16-2 run.
Adams State 81, Colo. Mines 52
ALAMOSA — Kendra Coveal scored 21 points for the Grizzlies (18-8, 13-7 RMAC), who led 21-8 after 13 minutes. Brecca Gaffney led Mines (7-18, 3-17) with 21 points.
Fort Lewis 92, Colo. Christian 68
DURANGO — Stephanie Beeman’s 3-pointer ignited a 29-14 run that turned a one-point CC lead into a 49-35 lead for the Skyhawks (24-1, 19-1 RMAC), ranked No. 4 in Division II.
Dana Schreibvogel led four Skyhawks in double figures with 23 points. Stephenie Allen led the Cougars (16-8, 14-6) with 21 points.

N.M. Highlands 74, Metro St. 67
The Roadrunners (19-6, 16-5 RMAC) were down 70-67 with 52 seconds left after Brandon Jefferson connected on a jumper, but they committed two turnovers and had a shot blocked in the waning moments as the Cowboys (19-6, 15-6) held on for the win at Auraria Event Center.
Adams State 78, Colo. Mines 71
ALAMOSA — DeRay Wilson’s 3-pointer with 22 seconds left gave the Grizzlies (18-6, 14-6 RMAC) a 75-71 lead, and Mines (20-4, 16-4) responded with two turnovers and two missed 3-pointers in the waning seconds.
Adams State led by six points at halftime. Mines reeled in the Grizzlies and led by six points midway through the second half, setting up a back-and-forth finish.
