GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany — Jean-Baptiste Grange of France capped a long comeback from knee injuries by claiming the final gold medal of the alpine skiing world championships by winning the men’s slalom Sunday.

Grange finished in 1 minute, 41.72 seconds to beat Jens Byggmark of Sweden by 0.43 of a second. Manfred Moelgg of Italy took bronze, 0.61 of a second behind.

Nolan Kasper was the top American, finishing 15th in 1:43.83, and giant slalom champion Ted Ligety was 19th in 1:44.17.

Miki Ando of Japan won the ladies title at the Four Continents figure skating championships, defeating reigning world champion and teammate Mao Asada. American Mirai Nagasu was third and Rachael Flatt of Colorado Springs was fourth.

• American Simon Cho won gold in the 500 meters at the short-track speedskating World Cup in Dresden, Germany, a day after he lost a race by one hundredth of a second. Cho won in 41.070 seconds.

• American Kikkan Randall won a women’s cross country World Cup sprint in Drammen, Norway, in the final tuneup for the world championships in Oslo this week. The Alaskan leads the sprint standings with 391 points, eight more than Arianna Follis of Italy.

• Russians Alexsandr Zubkov and Alexey Voevoda won their first world championship title by taking gold in the two-man bobsled in Koenigssee, Germany. The U.S. team of Steven Holcomb and Steven Langton finished sixth.

Roddick notches title No. 30

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Andy Roddick won the 30th title of his tennis career in his 50th final, finishing off a thrilling 7-6 (7), 6-7 (11), 7-5 victory over Canadian Milos Raonic in the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships.

Roddick becomes the eighth American with at least 30 titles, three behind the late Arthur Ashe.

Caroline Wozniacki earned her first singles title of 2011, beating Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia to win 6-1, 6-3 in the Dubai Championships final. The Dane will retake the No. 1 ranking from Kim Clijsters today.

• A spokesman said jockey Eibar Coa‘s condition is improving after undergoing surgery for a neck injury he suffered in a fall from his horse in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

Coa has some movement in his arms and shoulders, and feeling throughout his body, but can’t move his legs.

• The Factor emerged as a strong contender to give trainer Bob Baffert his fourth Kentucky Derby victory with a gate-to-wire win in the $150,000 San Vicente Stakes at Santa Anita in Arcadia, Calif. The Factor covered seven furlongs in 1:20.34.
