A man carrying a gun and wearing a ski mask and a shirt with a clown on it barged into a home in the town of Severance Monday afternoon, but apparently was scared off by the family’s dogs.
Three people were at home when the man walked in through their front door about 2 p.m. The family’s dogs approached the man and he turned and left, according to the Weld County Sheriff’s office.
The man, who was armed with a black handgun, was described as about six feet tall, wearing a black ski mask and a dark shirt imprinted with a picture of a red-haired, white-faced clown wearing rainbow hat.
Witnesses who saw the man before he entered the home told investigators he was 17 to 21 years old, thin, Hispanic or African-American with blue eyes and a blue tear-drop tatoo below his right eye. Witnesses also said he had an injury, possibly stitches, on the front left side of his head.
