Police today released a sketch of a southwest Denver sex assault suspect.

The attack happened on Thursday behind a shuttered grocery store at 3125 S. Sheridan Blvd., according to a Denver Police Department media release.

Police said a woman was riding a bus and got off at South Sheridan Boulevard and West Dartmouth Avenue. A man followed the woman and attacked her in a parking lot behind the empty building.

Investigators describe the assailant as a white man, about the age of 35, 5-feet 10-inches tall and 200 pounds, with brown hair pulled back into a ponytail and a noticeable gap between his front teeth.

The man wore a a black Carhartt coat, black jeans, and black work boots the day of the attack.
