FORT COLLINS — A Loveland educator accused of having sex with a 16-year-old male student is still barred from seeing her two children.
Larimer County District Judge Stephen Howard today scheduled a disposition hearing for March 21 for 31-year-old Courtney Bowles, who faces felony charges of sex assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Bowles – who formerly was an instructional coach at Mountain View High School – has been barred from having any contact with minors, including her two daughters.
But last month, Howard did allow Bowles to talk to her children over the phone as long as her husband listened in.
Those orders remain intact after today’s brief hearing, in which Bowles faced the judge but said nothing. “The protective orders are the same,” said prosecutor Renee Doak.
Police said they found Bowles and the Mountain View student parked at North Lake Park in Loveland on Jan. 21. Both were nude and admitted to having sex. The arresting officer also found an open bottle of vodka in the car.
At the time of her arrest, Bowles was not working directly with students. She resigned from her job shortly after her arrest. She remains free on bond.
