A woman who was found dead in her townhome Wednesday after getting into an apparent confrontation with her son kept a gun and locked herself in her bedroom most of the time out of fear of what her son might do to her, according to a police report obtained by the Camera this morning.
Police responded to 2817 Whitetail Circle on Jan. 11 after receiving a call about a woman barricading herself in her bedroom “out of fear of a male party inside the residence.”
The woman, identified in the report as 60-year-old Rita Redford, told police she was concerned that her son “may be dangerous and escalating.”
Redford wasn’t clear on why she thought her son was dangerous.
The son, who is identified in the report as 33-year-old Adam Raszynski, was questioned by police but was not arrested at the time because officers didn’t believe he or his mother “were in imminent danger to themselves, each other or the public.”
Raszynski is believed to be the man who was shot multiple times Wednesday at the same Whitetail Circle address and was taken to St. Anthony’s Central Hospital in serious condition. He is listed in critical condition this morning.
