Several police agencies called off the chase of a truck tonight shortly after the chase entered Denver.

The Adams County Sheriff’s department initiated the chase shortly after 9 p.m. when deputies tried to pull over a black Chevrolet truck near York Street and 58th Avenue, according to Nate Reid, spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.

The driver did not stop and fled south. The State Patrol was notified about the chase at 9:08 p.m.

Speed did not exceed 60 mph and authorities terminated the chase shortly after it began, the state patrol said.

According to 9News, troopers tried to deploy stop sticks, but were unsuccessful.

At some point during the chase, the truck hit another vehicle, the television station reported. The driver of that vehicle had minor injuries.
