HIGHLANDS RANCH — Senior Marcus Byrd scored a game-high 24 points as No. 1 seed Highlands Ranch cruised to a 78-45 win over Fruita Monument.
Byrd, a 6-foot-8 swingman, was 4-for-5 from 3-point range. The Falcons never trailed and built a 22-6 lead after the first quarter. Senior point guard Brett Olson added 12 points with 13 assists.
Drew Bridges led Fruita Monument with 17 points.

AURORA — Ryan Winters scored 18 points and Michael Clark added 13 for the defending champs.
Pomona’s Alex Welsh scored a game-high 27 points for the Panthers.
Denver East 64, Arvada West 54
The Angels trailed by 10 after one quarter, then rallied to beat the Wildcats at Manual’s Thunderdome.
Uriah Carter finished with 16 points and freshman Dominique Collier added 14 points and 13 assists.
