FANCY GAP, Va.—Virginia State Police say a man killed when his car crashed into a boulder was an Army sergeant from Colorado.

State police identified that crash victim Wednesday as 31-year-old Su Wan Ko of Colorado Springs.

Ko was killed Monday night when his car struck a fallen boulder on Interstate 77 on Fancy Gap Mountain in Carroll County.

Virginia State Police Sgt. Stevie Lowe tells The Roanoke Times that Ko’s rented Toyota Corolla slammed head-on into the multi-ton boulder that had fallen from a cliff onto the interstate.
