Leonid Shifrin of Aurora pleaded guilty recently to one count of filing a false income-tax return, U.S. Attorney John Walsh and IRS Special Agent in Charge Sean Sowards announced Monday.

The guilty plea was tendered before U.S. District Court Judge Philip A. Brimmer on March 2. Sentencing is set for June 24. According to the plea agreement, from 2002 through 2005, the former mortgage broker underreported his business receipts by $4.7 million.
