The Avalanche today came to contract terms with its first-round pick of last season, center Joey Hishon.
While terms have yet to be announced, The Post confirmed the Avs signed Hishon to a multi-year contract.
Hishon, selected 17th overall in last year’s NHL draft, has 36 goals and 83 points in 46 games for the Owen Sound Attack of the OHL this season.
“I’m thrilled to be signing with the Avalanche,” said Hishon in a release issued by the Avs. “Colorado has a young and exciting team and I look forward to being a part of their future.”
The team said Hishon will continue to play with the Attack for the remainder of their season.
