After a successful St. Patrick’s Day parade in Denver on Saturday, in which organizers said over 200,000 spectators attended, Irish-themed businesses and organizations are primed to carry on today.
Doors to the The Keggs & Eggs gathering in Denver at Lodo’s Bar and Grill, 1946 Market St., opened this morning at 7 a.m. Early-morning revelers partied to the sounds of Reno Divorce, Darling Thieves and Ok Go!
Denver won’t be as busy as Dublin, where half a million people packed the Irish capitol’s parade route today, but Colorado celebrants can still get their fill of Irish music, dance and food at restaurants and bars throughout the metro area and along the Front Range.
Among the many entertainment offerings are: Brian Clancy & Irish Row at noon, Fadó Irish Pub, 1735 19th Street, Denver; Mulligan Stew at 3 p.m., Ned Kelly’s Irish Pub, 5686 South Sycamore St., Littleton; and Celtic Wind at 7:30 p.m., Slattery’s, 5364 Greenwood Plaza Blvd., Englewood.

For St. Patrick partiers who indulge in too much green beer, whiskey or other spirits, the Sawaya Law Firm is again this year paying for taxi cab fares.
It’s the 4 fourth year Michael Sawaya, a Colorado personal injury lawyer, is offering to pick up the cab fare, up to $35, to help combat drinking and driving.
The program, which runs through Sunday, is a reimbursement. Cab patrons have to pay for the ride, and then send a copy of the bill to Sawaya at: Holiday Free Cab Ride Program, The Sawaya Law Firm, 1600 Ogden St., Denver, CO. 80218.
There are restrictions and for more information on the cab ride program call 303 Good-Law (466-3529).
For Irish fanciers who still haven’t had enough, the Heritage Irish Stepdancers will keep the jigs coming.
The stepdancers present “Jigcracker,” the group’s “Irish version of the Nutcracker,” on Saturday and Sunday at the Broomfield Auditorium.
