Aurora police have identified the man killed in a SWAT situation Friday as 20-year-old Aaron Williams.
The incident began when an Aurora police officer made a traffic stop Thursday night.
The suspect, Williams, shot the officer in the leg and ran off.
Williams then held a family of four hostage for several hours near East 16th Avenue and Florence Street before he was shot and killed by police after exiting the apartment with a handgun.
Police said he had threatened to “shoot it out” with them.
