CHEYENNE, Wyo.—A businessman is developing an energy park in northern Colorado that could provide infrastructure to support the Niobrara oil play in southeastern Wyoming.
The Wyoming Tribune-Eagle reports that developer Craig Harrison of Fort Collins, Colo., says the park could provide between 200 to 400 jobs when it’s completed.
Weld County, Colo., commissioners approved the plans for the 640-acre park this month. It will be located between Interstate 25 and U.S. Highway 85 in northern Colorado.
Harrison says the park will integrate different energy sources, including a natural gas processing plant, a data center and a 200-acre solar farm. He says 20 companies have inquired about buying land in the park but none has committed yet to moving in.
