CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa—A Cedar Rapids woman charged animal abuse in Iowa has appeared in a Colorado courtroom, where she faces charges of being a fugitive from justice.

The Gazette in Cedar Rapids says Jennifer Wood appeared in court Friday in Larimer County, Colo. She was arrested March 24 in Red Feather Lakes, Colo., without incident.

Authorities say she was released from jail on $10,000 bond.

Wood did not have an attorney with her at Friday’s hearing. Another hearing was scheduled in Colorado for April 12.

In Iowa, Wood is charged with 35 counts of animal abuse and two counts of unhealthy and unsanitary conditions after authorities seized 32 dogs, two cats and a parrot from her home on Feb. 17. A dead dog and dead cat also were found in the garage.
