The pilot of glider who died in a crash east of Baseline Reservoir in Boulder Friday afternoon has been identified as 46-year-old Daniel J. Tengdin of Westminster.
An autopsy was performed today by the Boulder County Coroner.
The crash occurred at about 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Witnesses said the glider struck a high-tension power line before coming apart in the air, witnesses said.
Emergency responders found a debris field covering 300 square yards. The area is mostly open space, with a few houses amid the fields.
The Boulder Daily Camera reported that FAA records listed the single-seat glider as belonging to the Mile High Youth Gliding Association out of Boulder. The glider left from Boulder Municipal Airport.
