Getting your player ready...

Colorado sophomore tight end DaVaughn Thornton watched practice Tuesday from the sideline, a day after he was taken to a nearby hospital for precautionary tests.

The tests came back negative. “He’s fine. He’ll do some stuff (at the next practice) Thursday and then I’ll decide if we doing anything with him on Saturday. He wants to play,” CU coach Jon Embree said.

Other than some soreness in his back, Embree said Thornton was fine.

The Buffs wrap up Embree’s first spring Saturday with the spring game. He is expecting approximately 26 high-school junior year prospects and their parents.

“They are coming from all over,” he said of out-of-staters joining in-state ranks. “It’s turned into a nice number of kids.”
