A 3-year-old child apparently drowned Saturday in a decorative pond while his mother was visiting relatives, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said.
Lefthand Fire Protection District and other responders went to a yard in the 7600 block of 34th Court about 2:20 p.m. They found the boy in the pond, and he was not breathing or responsive after being pulled out. The boy was pronounced dead at Boulder Community Hospital.
The child and his mother had been visiting relatives in the neighborhood, according to the sheriff. The child had been playing in the relative’s fenced-in yard but apparently found a way out.
