A woman was injured last week in Centennial when she was pinned between two cars after a dispute at a gas station.
On April 7 at 12:10 p.m., deputies from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Loaf-N-Jug on East Smoky Hill Road and found an injured woman being administered first aid.
The Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday that an investigation found that the 52-year-old got into an argument with another woman, 31-year-old Heather Lester, while the two were filling up at the gas pumps.
After Lester was done fueling, she pulled her Dodge Durango behind the victim’s car, a Honda Odyssey, and parked there for several minutes.
When the victim drove away from the pump, Lester rear-ended her van, then backed up her vehicle. The victim exited the car to look at the damage, as did Lester.
But when Lester left her car, it began to roll backward. When Lester tried to get back into the car, it then began to roll forward, and trapped the victim between the two cars and fracturing her femur.
Lester has been cited with careless driving resulting in an injury, driving a defective vehicle and harassment.
Lester said that she was having problems with her shifter and that she had made an appointment to have her vehicle inspected for a possible recall.
