SAN JOSE, Calif. — Kings forward Jarret Stoll has been suspended one game for a blindside hit that knocked San Jose defenseman Ian White out of Game 1 of a first-round series.
The NHL announced the punishment Friday after holding a telephone hearing with Stoll.
White also will likely miss Game 2 today as the Sharks look to take a 2-0 series lead. White did not practice Friday and coach Todd McLellan says it is unlikely he will be able to play today.
White’s injury came at the end of the first period of a game the Sharks won 3-2 in overtime. There was no penalty called on the play.
Footnote.
The Hurricanes signed defenseman Justin Faulk of Minnesota-Duluth, their second-round pick from last year’s draft, to a two-way contract and immediately sent him to their AHL affiliate.
