Two women have been charged with being accessories to a February double murder southwest of Castle Rock.
Krystal Kurcz, 21, and Megan Cassidy, 22, were arrested last week and have been released after posting bond, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office announced today.
Kurcz is charged with being an accessory to a crime, unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon and false reporting to authorities.
Cassidy is charged with being an accessory to a crime and tampering with physical evidence.
Police did not disclose what, specifically, the women are accused of doing, and all records in the case are sealed.
Four men already have been charged in connection with the Feb. 23 deaths of Amara Wells, 39, and Robert Rafferty, Jr., 49.
Police say Christopher B. Wells, who was estranged from his wife, Amara Wells, solicited three men to kill his sister, who was married to Robert Rafferty, Jr.
Amara Wells and her 6-year-old daughter were living with the Raffertys at the time of the killing.
Wells’ sister was on an out-of-town trip when the men are accused of stabbing and shooting the victims.
Christopher B. Wells faces 27 charges, including first-degree murder, solicitation of first-degree murder and conspiracy. Also charged are Micah Woody, Josiah Sher and Matthew Plake.
All four men worked together at a Colorado Springs auto dealer at one time.
