Students at Colorado State University can now minor in Global Environmental Sustainability, another move in the school’s emphasis in environmental research and education, say officials.
The minor will give students from across campus the opportunity to obtain a diverse background in environmental sustainability, including the physical, biological, economic and social pillars of sustainability, said Diana Wall, director of CSU’s School of Global Environmental Sustainability.
“There is a high demand from our students for a program like this,” said Wall. “Enrollment in our GES-101, Foundations of Global Environmental Sustainability course, has been very high, with enrollment exceeding the course cap.”
Curriculum for the new minor includes the completion of 21 credit hours. Two new courses have been created as requirements for the minor – GES-101- Foundations of Environmental Sustainability and GES-470— Applications of Environmental Sustainability.
