Bill Ferguson, owner of Famous Dave's at East 36th Avenue and Syracuse Street, looks over the wreckage of the restaurant's bar area after a street-sweeping vehicle plowed into the Stapleton barbecue joint about 1:30 a.m. Monday, destroying the bar and pushing a wall 6 feet into the dining room. No one was inside at the time, said Mike Higgins, area director for the restaurant chain. The street sweeper was operated by a private company, and it was unclear whether the driver fell asleep or had a seizure. "From the damage, it looks like he hit about full force," Higgins said. The driver was taken to the hospital.
