GOLDEN — AC Golden Brewing said its Colorado Native Lager will be available in cans this summer. AC Golden, a Golden- based, small-batch unit of brewer MillerCoors, said the cans will be sold in 12-packs starting May 1 and continuing through the summer.
“Our retailers and drinkers have been requesting cans, especially for summer so they can take Colorado Native more places — camping, golfing, lakeside — where they don’t want to or can’t take glass,” spokeswoman Aimee Valdez said.
Colorado Native Lager is brewed with 99.89 percent Colorado ingredients. The missing fraction is hops because Colorado doesn’t yet produce enough of the bitter herb. The brewer last year launched a campaign to have customers volunteer to grow backyard hops for use in producing the beer.
