Oklahoma State’s Kendall Hunter, right, went to the San Francisco 49ers with the 115th pick overall — the 18th pick of the fourth round, or roughly 60 spots lower than many teams had him on the draft board. Hunter was one of the running backs the Broncos’ worked out in the weeks leading up to the draft. He is a little undersized at 5-foot-7, 199 pounds. But he had 20 100-yard rushing games in his career. And scouts certainly took notice of three games his sophomore season when he averaged 133 yards rushing at 6.7 yards per carry against teams that were ranked No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 at the time. Hunter is decisive with the ball, makes defenders miss in the hole and understands his responsibilities in pass protection.
