One person was killed Friday night after a car turned in front of a motorcyclist in Lakewood.
The accident happened around 9 p.m. at Kipling Street and W. Colfax Avenue, said Ty Countryman, spokesman for the Lakewood Police Department.
The car was traveling northbound on Kipling Street when it made a left-hand turn onto westbound Colfax Avenue, colliding with the motorcycle that was traveling southbound on Kipling Street.
The driver of the motorcycle died on scene, Countryman said. The driver of the car was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing, but at this time officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
No charges have been filed.
The names of the victim and the driver of the car have not been released.
