A 17-year-old boy and a transient man from Pueblo were arrested in Fort Collins after leading police on a pursuit early this morning.
An officer spotted a vehicle speeding westbound on Mulberry Street near 12th Street, according to a news release from the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
The deputy saw the car run a red light before turning onto College Avenue.
At 1:21 a.m. the deputy turned on his lights and began to pursue the vehicle after it turned east onto Mountain Avenue.
The vehicle refused to stop and the deputy chased it southbound on Peterson Avenue; speeds reached as high as 60 mph.
After less than two minutes the deputy stopped pursuing the vehicle out of concern for the safety of other vehicles and pedestrians in the area. The deputy sent out an alert with the vehicle’s description.
A few minutes after the alert, Fort Collins police spotted and followed a trail of leaking fluid that led them to the wanted vehicle near College Avenue and Elizabeth Street.
Police saw two men running from the vehicle.
Officers found the passenger of the vehicle, a 17-year-old boy from Fort Collins. The teen had four warrants out for his arrest and had been listed as missing and on the run for several months.
The teen was arrested and taken to Platte Valley Youth Services Center in Greeley.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested about 10 minutes later. Police identified him as 25-year-old Michael Stanley-Worosello, a transient from Pueblo.
Stanley-Worosello was taken to the Larimer County Jail. He faces charges of vehicular eluding, obstructing a peace officer, reckless driving, compulsory insurance violation, speeding and traffic control devices violation.
