The 27th annual Denver Public Schools Shakespeare Festival will begin at 10 a.m. Friday with an Elizabethan parade running from Skyline Park on the 16th Street Mall down Curtis Street before spreading throughout the grounds of the Denver Performing Arts Complex.
As many as 5,000 DPS students from kindergarten through high school will perform 400 short scenes, dances, soliloquies and sonnets on 12 indoor and outdoor stages.
Performances run continuously from 10:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., and a Challenge Bowl trivia contest focusing on “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” begins at 1 p.m. For information and a school-by-school schedule, go to .
