Five Denver-area football players who will be seniors in the 2011 season have been nominated to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl for high school stars.

They are: Evan Baylis, a tight end at Grandview in Aurora who has pledged to play for Oregon; Shane Callahan, right, a lineman at Chaparral in Parker; Cyler Miles, a quarterback at three-time defending Class 5A champion Mullen; Clay Norgard, a lineman at Mountain Vista in Highlands Ranch; and Paul Thurston, a lineman at Arvada West. Ninety out of 144 national nominees will be chosen to play in the Jan. 7 game in San Antonio.

Former players in the All-American Bowl include Broncos QB Tim Tebow, who starred at Florida, and running back LenDale White (Denver South, Chatfield and Southern California).
