GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—The Bureau of Land Management is proposing selling nearly 80 acres in Mesa County to Mesa State College so the college can build a regional public safety training facility.

The price: $794.50.

The Recreation and Public Purposes Act allows the BLM to sell or lease public lands at a discounted price to state and local governments and to certain nonprofit organizations.

The BLM plans to post an environmental assessment of the proposed sale Monday online, and it will be up for public review and comments for two weeks.
