LONGMONT, Colo.—A Longmont man was hospitalized after he was hit by a marked police car while crossing Main Street.
The Longmont Times-Call reported that 55-year-old Thomas McGowan has a fractured leg, but his injuries are not life threatening. Authorities say McGowan was hit by Longmont police officer James Brown while crossing the street Wednesday night.
Officials say it was dark and rainy when the accident happened and the Colorado State Patrol is investigating what happened. Authorities say speed and impaired driving did not contribute to the crash.
Brown has been placed on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation.
