The 51-year-old man who was shot to death in his Denver home Saturday night was identified today.
Police found Gary Chavez shot in his home at 5545 N. Xanadu Way at 9:40 p.m.; he was pronounced dead at Denver Health Medical Center at 11:23 p.m., according to a news release from the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.
Chavez died of a gunshot wound to his abdomen and his death was ruled a homicide.
Police said there was an argument between Chavez and the owner of the home in which he lived.
The homeowner has not been identified and was released “pending a review of the facts and a determination of what charges, if any, will be filed by the Denver district attorney’s office,” police said.
