COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A Colorado Springs woman accused of dragging a tow-truck driver to his death has been ordered to stand trial for leaving the scene of an accident involving death.
The Gazette reported Monday a judge decided there was enough evidence to try 33-year-old Detra Farries of felony hit-and-run charges.
Farries also faces 11 other charges, including manslaughter and vehicular homicide in the death of 35-year-old Allen Rose.
Authorities say Rose was preparing to tow an illegally parked SUV when someone got in and drove away. Investigators say Rose tried to chase the vehicle down when he got tangled in the dangling tow cable and was dragged for more than a mile.
Prosecutors say Farries ignored Rose’s attempts to flag her down.
Farries told police she didn’t know she was being towed.
