First, rock for a cause — by raising money for children’s health and education programs — at the one-day Denver Day of Rock (), an event featuring five band stages. Then stroll through the Denver Pavilions for the Downtown Denver Arts Festival, happening through Monday (). There’s also talk of a downtown Denver “flash mob,” or an artful surprise assembly. Boulder Creek Festival

Today through Monday. Kick off summer with three days of music, food and carnival rides at the 24th annual Boulder Creek Festival. Hundreds of vendors, five performance stages and the signature Great Rubber Duck Race should help douse our recent rainy-day blues. Other festival events include a vintage bicycle swap and a kid-friendly cook-off. The festival happens along Boulder Creek from Ninth to 14th streets, and between Canyon Boulevard and Arapahoe Avenue. Details at .
