Colorado Springs police are looking for a woman who drove more than seven miles the wrong way down Interstate 25 early Sunday.
Rachel Schurle, 25, was in a dark-colored Kia Sportage heading south in the northbound lanes just after 3 a.m. Sunday. Police were called to Interstate 25 and Fillmore Street, but didn’t spot the vehicle until it reached the Tejon Street exit, police said.
Police drove next to the SUV and tried to get Schurle’s attention. Schurle looked at the officers and turned off her car’s headlights for about 30 seconds. The patrol car driving next to Schurle had its emergency lights flashing, police said.
Once Schurle passed the exit at South Academy Boulevard, she made a U-turn and headed north in the northbound lanes, police said.
