LAKEWOOD — Two people were shot Friday morning in Lakewood.
Police spokesman Steve Davis said the incident happened about 9:50 a.m. at the 12th Avenue Apartments, 7755 W. 12th Ave.
A man and woman were taken to a hospital. The woman had a gunshot wound in the leg, and the man had an abrasion on his head, Davis said.
Witnesses told police a man was seen leaving the apartment after the shooting. He got in a pickup driven by another man, and they drove away.
Neighbor DeAnn Orlicki, 20, lives in the apartment across the hall from the shooting. She said she heard what she thought was a door slamming, but then she heard a woman screaming.
When she opened the door, she saw blood in the hallway.
“It’s horrible. I don’t want to be here,” Orlicki said.
