A Toyota pickup truck slammed into a 58-year-old man in Pueblo last night while he was crossing a street. The pedestrian later died of his injuries.
The name of the victim and the driver of the 1997 Toyota pickup have not been released pending notification of family members.
The Pueblo man was crossing the middle of the street in the 3100 block of North Elizabeth Street at 8:42 p.m. when he was struck on the outside lane of the southbound lanes, according to a news release.
The 63-year-old man who was driving the pickup was not injured in the crash, police said.
The pedestrian was treated at the scene and rushed to Parkview Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police do not believe the driver was speeding or had been drinking alcohol.
