DENVER—The Colorado health department is warning that smoke from fires in Arizona is continuing to cause problems across much of Colorado.
The health department said Tuesday that the smoke is contributing to background haze and reduced visibility in the mountains and at lower elevations.
A Smoke Health Advisory is in effect for the southern half of Colorado, where moderate to heavy smoke is possible in the southern half of Colorado through Tuesday at noon.
The health department says the heavy smoke in Durango, Montrose, Pagosa Springs, Alamosa, Aspen, and Colorado Springs will gradually shift eastward Tuesday evening.
The health department is warning people with health problems to stay indoors.
