A 4-month-old child died Tuesday after an emergency call from a home day-care center in the Washington Park neighborhood.

Denver police responded to a “child not breathing” call at 3:58 p.m. in the 500 block of South High Street, said police spokesman Lt. Matt Murray.

The baby was transported to Denver Health Medical Center and pronounced dead.

The sex of the child was unknown Tuesday evening.

Police said there were no obvious signs of trauma to the child’s body.

The day-care center is licensed with the Colorado Department of Human Services. The license is for nine children up to 13 years old.

Detectives are investigating.
