A New Castle man’s video of Canada geese and goslings surfing the wave at the Glenwood Springs Whitewater Park has gone viral on YouTube with more than 920,000 views as of Tuesday.
“I posted it to YouTube for my family and friends to get a kick out of,” said Brian Wright, 27, a longtime paddler. “I didn’t expect this national reaction that it seems to have gathered.”
Wright said he was hanging out at the whitewater park around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, filming a kayaker paddling in the big wave.
“I was filming him, and then I saw a group of geese come swimming around the corner. Since I had my camera in hand, I hit ‘record.’ My original thought was, ‘Oh no, this isn’t going to be good.’ I was worried about the goslings.”
