Crews struggling with erratic winds have managed to contain 10 percent of a blaze that started Sunday in the San Isabel National Forest near Westcliffe, fire managers said.

Firefighters have helped to keep the fire away from a church camp by starting smaller fires to burn fuels, U.S. Forest Service spokeswoman Dawn Sanchez told The Pueblo Chieftain.

Most of the 180 junior-high-age campers and staffers forced from the camp Sunday have been relocated to another area camp.

“No structures have been lost, and we will keep personnel at the camp until the danger has passed,” Sanchez said. The Associated Press
