Early on, Stephen and Kenneth White learned never to do anything halfhearted. No matter the occasion, the two brothers believed in giving their all to those they could.
So, when Stephen learned Kenneth was going into the Army, he knew he’d be the best soldier he could be.
When Stephen found out his brother was to marry Sarah, he knew he’d be the best husband he could be and, as Stephen watched as the couple had their three children, he knew Kenneth would be the best father he could be.
That’s just the way Kenneth was, Stephen said, standing onstage at Kenneth Ryan White’s funeral Wednesday morning, fingering the edges of a folded note he had avoided writing because he didn’t want to admit his brother was dead.
