Aurora-based Children’s Hospital announced today that it is immediately changing its name to Children’s Hospital Colorado or Children’s Colorado.
The hospital said that with 15 network of care locations, including the main campus in Aurora, and more than 400 clinics in Colorado and surrounding states, approximately 30 percent of the patients treated at Children’s Colorado come from outside of the Denver metro area.
Of those, approximately one-third come from outside Colorado and the United States, said the hospital.
“Our new name will help distinguish the hospital and its national reputation from other children’s hospitals across the country,” said Amy Casseri, chief strategy officer for Children’s Hospital Colorado.
“We provide services in Denver and Aurora and across the state and region through our network of care locations.”
She said the new name represents the umbrella of services both in the metropolitan Denver area and beyond.
The hospital said the new name also strengthens the hospital’s collaboration with the University of Colorado and its partners in the local community and across the region.Howard Pankratz: 303-954-1939 or hpankratz@denverpost.com.
