Vanessa Barcus started her women’s boutique, Goldyn, four years ago as an online operation but now finds herself with a sleek new bricks-and-mortar location in the popular LoHi neighborhood. Next door to the bar and restaurant Linger, Goldyn brings a big-city vibe to the block. With its sleek black-and-white decor accented with antiques including a crystal chandelier, typewriter, cloches and Edison lightbulbs dangling from the ceiling, the space echoes the 1930s vintage of the building, formerly Olinger mortuary. Shoppers are greeted by Zoe, Barcus’ Shih Tzu-Maltese mix, who keeps an eye on the neighborhood from her perch in the display window. Barcus lives in the area and says she thought it would be the perfect place for her store, which carries Helmut Lang dresses, See by Chloe separates, jeans from such hot labels as Current/Elliot and J Brand; and sportswear from Vince and Rag & Bone. Barcus also hand-picks from a selection of up-and-coming Parisian labels such as Athe and Iro. Items to complete an outfit include shoes from Loeffler Randall, handbags by Rebecca Minkoff, sunglasses from Elizabeth and James, and jewelry by local and national designers. Goldyn is hosting a fashion show at 8 p.m. June 30 on Linger’s rooftop deck. RSVP at ; 888-646-5396; 2040 W. 30th Ave.
